I don’t go anywhere without a book. Sometimes, I carry two books in the event I might finish the first, and it would be an absolute tragedy to be without something to read. I’ve loved reading ever since my Mamma Pat would read me bedtime stories when she would come to babysit, or my mum would recite the poems from her favourite collection (a personal nod to Leerie the Lamp Lighter). I grew up with Spot the Dog, Tracey Beaker, Horrible Histories, and Harry Potter … it was no wonder my love for reading would follow me into my adult years.
