Community Radio
When I’m not reading a book, hiking in the peaks or out for food with friends, I’m a sound artist working with communities. I believe that radio can bring communities together and in doing so, creating a sense of belonging. Community radio, podcasts and sound projects can empower people, improve confidence, provide a platform to share new stories and give a voice to the voiceless.
I’ve had the pleasure of curating, managing and delivering radio projects in some really interesting places. I’ve delivered radio workshops in prisons, hospitals, youth centres, schools, libraries, theatres, art centres, festivals and even in a DJ van outside of McDonalds! I am always looking for a new community to engage, a new organisation or venue to collaborate with, and more stories to share. I have links to local radio stations across the East Midlands and have produced my own radio folk show for over 8 years. For 10 years I was a lecturer in Media Production, specialising in radio and sound.

Radio in Schools
I have been delivering radio workshops in schools for over 10 years. From audio projects around WW2, healthy lifestyles, drama, confidence workshops, anti-bullying campaigns, radio summer schools and more, I am able to tailor radio workshops for the learners needs and interests.
During my time as a freelance sound artist and workshop facilitator, I was the project leader for Takeover Radio. Since Takeover, I have continued to freelance as a sound artist and workshop facilitator across the East Midlands, working with various communities, hubs, venues, schools and more. This work led to me becoming a lecturer in Radio and Sound.
Radio & Sound with Communities
Take a look through some of my recent community radio projects below. Most of my work is based on community workshops that deliver radio and sound skills, to enable the participants to create their own radio, share their own stories and control their own narratives. Some of the below examples are events coverage and collaborations with community stations and education bodies. All of my work is produced alongside communities.
